Is this Jenny’s own fibre network?

Yes. The protected ring uses Jenny’s own 24-core fibre infrastructure connecting MOZIX, iCOLO MPM1 and RAXIO MZ1.

How does the protected ring work?

The ring provides two possible fibre directions between the connected ring locations. If one section is interrupted, a protected service can use the alternative route, subject to the agreed service configuration.

Is the connection to Vodacom Data Centre Matola protected?

The standard Vodacom Matola connection uses a fibre spur from RAXIO MZ1. An optional microwave failover path can be added at an additional cost for customers requiring protection from the Vodacom site.

What speeds are available?

Fibre services are available at 1 Gbps, 10 Gbps and 100 Gbps, subject to capacity and technical feasibility.

Can I connect any two data centres?

Yes. Jenny can provide Layer 2 connectivity between any two supported data centres.

Are point-to-point services protected?

Point-to-point services are supplied as single-path services by default. Protection options can be discussed based on the selected locations and technical requirements.

What type of connectivity is provided?

Jenny provides dedicated Layer 2 Ethernet connectivity between the selected data centres.

Who maintains the fibre network?

The network is maintained by Jenny’s own fibre and technical teams. This allows us to respond directly to faults and carry out repairs without relying entirely on another network operator.

How long does installation take?

Installation times depend on capacity availability, data centre access and cross-connect requirements. We will provide an estimated installation date after reviewing your requirements.

Are data centre port and cross-connect fees included?

Data centre port fees, cross-connect charges and other site-specific costs may apply. These will be clearly shown in your quotation where applicable.
